Day trip to Bern: The Swiss Capital, with Government Building

LCGN's President organised an excursion to the Federal City, her hometown

LCGN members with their partners and family gathered at Helvetiaplatz, at the Historical Museum in Bern at 10.30 for a coffee break at the Museum's Restaurant Steinhalle. An Individual Visit of the History of Berne and/or Albert Einstein Exhibition then followed. Albert Einstein indeed lived in Bern in 1905 when he developed his Relativity Theory

The group then walked up to the Federal Building to have an Apéro, offered by our LCGN president, at the Café Entrecôte Fédérale opposite the Federal Building. We then had a talk with the Swiss Ambassador and Lions Club member, Mr Tim Enderlin. He gave us an overview of his role as Head of Peace and Human Rights at the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs. Lunch was then served. We could visit upstairs the Bundesratsstube, the Special Room for Federal Ministers In the Restaurant Entrecôte Fédérale.

An official City Guide meet us and walked through the Old Town of Berne (UNESCO World Heritage City). He then took us down to the Bear Park. The group had a farewell drink nearby the bear park before heading back home.

A big THANK YOU goes to Susanne Shtewi, LCGN past President for the wonderful day trip organised in Bern with a very inspiring programme.
